THE MISSION of the Catholic Health Care System of the Archdiocese of New York is to foster and provide faith-based holistic care to frail and vulnerable people unable to fully care for themselves. Through shared commitments, the System seeks to improve the quality of the lives of those individuals and their families.

Guided by over 200 years of tradition, the Catholic Health Care System (CHCS) is a charitable organization comprised of seven long-term care facilities that serve as a haven for the elderly, the chronically ill, and the developmentally disabled, as well as a cancer hospital that provides specialized care to those nearing the end of their lives.

Responding to economic challenges and demographic trends, our eight facilities joined together under the CHCS umbrella in 2003. This union enables us to foster financial strength in order to expand our array of services.

By recognizing the importance of "best practices", we are implementing changes throughout our sponsored facilities that will continue to improve our residents' lifestyles as well as their healthcare. And, we are building an organizational culture that promotes professional and personal growth so we can attract and retain the most talented staff members.

At CHCS we devote ourselves to caring for individuals who require day-to-day physical support in order to live a full life. When homecare is no longer an option, we will do all we can to welcome the elderly and chronically ill into homelike settings.

At the same time, we are exploring innovative ways to enable individuals to remain in their homes for as long as possible - while also easing the burden of care for family and friends.

We are guided by our traditions and experiences, and focused towards innovation. Join us as we create a new direction in caring.
